Educational qualification requirements
- Super specialist medical officer ( second in Commando: Candidate must be a graduate in medicine ( MBBS) or equivalent from a recognized university or institute under the India Medical Council Act. Applicant must also be enrolled in any state medical register, should have also completed an internship, should possess a PG degree or diploma, should also possess a doctorate of medicine or magister Chirurgie M.Ch or equivalent for 3 years along with permanent registration from MCI or NMC or state medical council.
- Specialist medical officer ( Deputy commandant): Applicant should possess the medical qualification of the allopathic system in line with the Indian Medicine Council Act, 1956, rotating internship, PG degree or diploma.
- Medical officer ( Assistant commandant) : To apply for this post vacancy candidate should possess medical qualifications of the allopathic system, permanent registration from any MCI or NMC or State medical council, and compulsory rotating internship.
Age limit details
- For super-specialist medical officers, the age of the candidate should not exceed 50 years
- For the post of specialist medical officer ( deputy commandant ), the age should not exceed 40 years
- For the post of medical officer ( assistant commandant ), age should not exceed 30 years
- There is an age relaxation of five years for SC and ST candidates
- For OBC there is 3 year of age relaxation
- 5 years age relaxation for government servants ( civilian central government servants)
- 5 years of age relaxation for medical graduates who joined the Army Medical Corps
Selection process
The method of selection comprises stages of documentation, interview, physical standard test (PST), and MET ( medical examination test)
Those applicant who applied online can download the admit released by the recruiting authority. The admit card will contain all the date, time, and venue details for the documentation and interview.
Documentation process requirement
Applicants who have received an admit card and are called for the interview must bring original testimonials including matric or high school leaving certificate for age proof, qualification certificate, internship certificate, MCI, NMC, or state medical council certificate. Candidates belonging to SC ST or OBC or another category should bring relevant certificates. Interview process
The Recruitment authority or designated board will interview those candidates whose documents are found eligible and it will take a test of 200 marks for general knowledge. The minimum selection mark of the interview will be 40% of the total marks
PST physical standard test
This test will be held on the same day or the next day of the date of interview
- Height requirements for male candidates: 157.5 cm
- Height requirements for female candidates: 142 cms
- Chest for male candidates: unexpanded 77 cm and expanded 82 cm
Medical examination test
This test will be conducted by the board of medical officers and it will declare the fit or unfit status of the applicant. However, candidates who are declared unfit may undergo an RME review medical test.
Salary and benefits
The salary of the selected candidates will get the following salary and other benefits as follows
- Super specialist: Rs 2,18,200
- Medical officer: Rs 56,100
- Specilaist : Rs 1,01,500
- Dental surgeon: Rs 56,100
- Assistant commandant (MO : Rs 56,100
