CAT 2025 exam analysis for slot 1, 2 and 3

The slot 1,2, and 3 exam has been conducted today. This exam was conducted by the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode.

CAT exam 2025 analysis:

This year, there was a little difficulty in the slot 1 test. The total number of questions asked is 66 for the Verbal ability and reading Comprehension test, Data interpretation and Logical reasoning and Quantitative ability test. On this test, there was also negative marking, which states that for each false answer tick, there is a deduction of 1 mark for every correct answer; the candidate gets 3 marks. For those questions wehcihc candidate not attempt is considered as null marks,e no penalty for not attempting.

Slot 1 exam Analysis: The slot 1 test was conducted at 8:30 am and ended at 10.30 am. The nature of the question was moderate. There were a total of 68 questions asked, and the duration of time to answer the question was 2 hours, i.e 120 minutes. The top exam analyst also stated that this year, it has seen a rare repetition of the previous year’s question pattern. There were 24 questions from VARC, 22 questions from DILR and 22 MCQs of the Quantitative sections. Also, when asking various exam appeared candidates, the reports were found with mixed experiences. Some candidates reported that there was one question repetition, and some others the nature was moderate and so on.

Slot 2 Exam analysis: It was a mixed experience reported by the exam appearing candidate that the slot 2, which started from 12.30 pm and ended at 2.30 pm, was found more difficult than the 2024 slot 2 question paper. Today’s slot 2 exam was somewhat similar in patterns to the CAT 2022 test. There were also 68 questions nd in 120 minutes, all the questions were to be answered. Out of the total 24 questions set in the VARC, most students had attempted 10 to 12 questions correctly and were of an easy type.
